Instagram can be intimidating for beginners. Here are 3 apps to help you get started.

On Instagram

Instagram is one of the fastest growing mainstream social networks. Since its inception in 2010, the love for squared photos and hashtags has spread to the pockets of over 300 million regular users. Whether you are a business or a person, Instagram allows you to showcase your personality and lets your followers live vicariously through your photos. To be a successful Instagrammer, you must pay attention to every detail of your pictures, from the hashtags to the filter. Here are 3 apps to help you achieve Instagram mastery!

3. Squaready

Instagram only allows users to publish square photos. This can be infuriating as most cameras take rectangular photos, so users must crop their pictures before uploading them to their social media. Squaready is a good app to circumvent that – the app allows you to add a solid colored background to a portrait/landscape image in order to square it without compromising any of the content. Here’s what it looks like in action.

Now I can add the picture to my Instagram without having to cut off the sky or my Cool Lime Refresher!

Squaready is available for free on the iTunes App Store. SquareIt is a similar app for Android phones.

2. Pic Stitch

An important unspoken rule of Instagram is “Don’t overshare.” If you upload three or four photos in a row you risk cluttering newsfeeds and getting less likes on your photos. Pic Stitch allows you to arrange your pictures in a collage-like format so you can post multiple pictures at once without angering your followers. It looks something like this.

Pic Stitch is available for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

1. Snapseed

Snapseed may be one of my favorite apps. It has a plethora of features from cropping, to tuning, to filtering, and it still somehow manages to be incredibly easy to do. With Snapseed, it takes fifteen seconds to turn a good picture into a great picture. Let’s take a look at a picture of yesterday’s breakfast.

It’s a small touch-up, but it makes a world of difference!

The Instagram App’s offerings are limited when it comes to filters and photo editing, so Snapseed is the natural complement for it. Snapseed is available for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

With these three apps, you’ll be an Insta Pro in no time! Happy snapping!
